The German Navy required a new system for verifying and adjusting their inertial systems on naval vessels. The test system at the time, a laser tracker, has proved to be inadequate on account of its unreliability under difficult weather conditions (fog, strong swell). Therefore, the JNSGyro-4 system was introduced to achieve a high level of accuracy quickly and reliably in respect to position, pitch, roll and heading (up to 0.01 degrees).
The navy scrutinized the maritime efficacy of the system and has now stipulated that the JNSGyro-4 is to be deployed as the verification and adjustment system for its inertial system.
ALLSAT has assisted the German Navy in this project from the outset and still gives expert advice and active support today.
