Calian TW5390
Manufacturer: Calian Model: TW5390
The Calian TW5390 is a multi-band (L1/L2), multi-constellation GNSS receiver with an integrated antenna, inertial measurement unit (IMU) for untethered dead reckoning, and a built-in L-band receiver for PointPerfect PPP-RTK corrections.
The TW5390 independently provides sub-meter accuracy, achieving less than 6 cm with PPP-RTK corrections and under 1 cm with RTK corrections. With IMU sensor fusion, the TW5390 supports high-precision positioning in challenging environments, such as dense urban areas or off-grid locations.
Interference Resistance of the Calian TW5390
The TW5390 incorporates a next-generation GNSS receiver with multi-band capabilities (L1/L2) and an IMU, along with a Tallysman Accutenna® multi-band antenna (L1/L2/L-band) featuring a triple-band, dual-feed patch. This state-of-the-art GNSS receiver supports simultaneous tracking of all four major satellite constellations (GPS, BeiDou, Galileo, and GLONASS) across multiple frequency bands. Its multi-band architecture (L1/L2) is highly effective in mitigating ionospheric errors. The TW5390 employs multi-stage filtering with low-noise LNAs (Low Noise Amplifiers) combined with the dual-feed Accutenna®, significantly enhancing multipath interference suppression. The IMU’s sensor fusion further mitigates the effects of strong multipath reflections, ensuring continuous positioning availability during GNSS signal blockages. This delivers exceptional performance to meet the demands of the most challenging high-precision positioning applications.
Precise Point Positioning
The TW5390 supports a wide range of correction services (RTCM RTK, network-based PPP-RTK, or PointPerfect PPP-RTK via L-band) to optimize performance based on the specific needs of each application. The simultaneous access to all four satellite constellations across multiple bands (L1/L2) improves the receiver’s convergence ability, providing a fast, precise, and reliable positioning solution that is resilient to ionospheric errors and enhances resistance to interference and jamming.
As an RTK rover, the TW5390 accepts RTCM-RTK messages from a base station, a virtual reference station, or SPARTN-SSR format message types through the PointPerfect subscription service. The TW5390 offers positioning accuracy of less than 6 cm when used with PointPerfect PPP-RTK corrections and less than 1 cm accuracy with RTK. The TW5390 can receive PointPerfect PPP-RTK corrections via L-band when outside terrestrial network coverage areas.
