In special cases, when pitch, roll and heading data are required in addition to the classic position, the 4-antenna system developed by JAVAD GNSS is used.
The principle here is to place four interdependent antennas, all of which are connected to a single receiver. One antenna always turns out to be the so-called master antenna, the other three are the so-called slave antennas.
Using the four positions of the respective antennas, the SigmaQM calculates the further data. One antenna is intended as a redundancy.
The JAVAD SigmaQM is thus an optimal tool when it comes to three-dimensional positioning. With the help of the built-in TRE-Quattro OEM, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and BeiDou can be received and tracked on 864 channels. Thanks to the Sigma’s internal power supply, the system can also be operated autonomously at times.
