The DCR600 consists of two identical corner reflectors made of super-light aluminum, which are directly connected at the edge. Thus, the DCR600 has a common reference point for InSAR observations from different directions.

The DCR600 also has an antenna holder that can accept any geodetic GNSS antenna. The antenna reference point is located exactly in the vertical axis of the DCR600. This allows the coordinate time series coming out of the GNSS measurement and the InSAR observations to be referenced with high accuracy and without an attitude offset. In addition, prisms can be attached to the corner points of the DCR600 because measurement marks are also located there. These measurement marks can be used, among other things, to measure and orient the DCR600.

The design of the DCR600 also differs significantly from conventional corner reflectors, as these are mainly made of thick/heavy sheet metal due to their size and are not small and compact. Transporting and installing conventional corner reflectors often requires heavy equipment and significantly more manpower.

The DCR600 is significantly smaller in comparison and can therefore be manufactured with full thickness thin plates, making it much lighter (<50kg) even without the use of perforated plates.
